Blackeyed Susan Goldsturm The Rudbeckia ‘Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan’, Rudbeckia fulgida, is an easy to grow perennial with large flower heads of golden yellow and black to brown centers. The flower heads are 3½ to 5 inches across, with a plant spread of 18-24” and a height of 24”. The dark green foliage sits at the bottom on the tall daisy-like flowers and bloom from July to September. Rudbeckia ‘Goldstrum Black Eyed-Susan’ was selected Perennial of the Year in 1999, and one can see why. ‘Black-Eyed Susans’ need to be grown in full sun in somewhat moist soil conditions in a well-drained area. It is great in borders, for cut flowers or for naturalized areas. Rudbeckia attracts butterflies, provides food for birds in the winter and is mildew-resistant. Plant in masses with Veronica ‘Goodness Grows’, Alchemilla ‘Lady’s Mantle’ or with ornamental grasses.
Coral Bells Obsidian The Coral Bells Obsidian, Heuchera 'Obsidian' (PP14,836), with it's Jet Black leaves, has the darkest foilage to date of the Coral Bells. Taller shoots of cream colored flowers appear on this evergreen variety in June. Plant the Obsidian with Coral Bells Lime Ricky, Marmalade or Peach Flambe for a fantastic color contrast. Coral Bells are grown more for their foliage color but the small blooms that they contain will attract hummingbirds. Like most Coral Bells, it thrives in partial sunlight but once established it will also grow in shade. Use this coral bell as a ground cover, in rock gardens, as a border plant or as an edger along paths and walkways.
Coreopsis Autumn Blush The Coreopsis Autumn Blush, Coreopsis 'Autumn Blush' (PPAF) is a wonderful new variety to the Coreopsis family. The fern like leaves make a great contrast with the daisy shaped flowers. It tolerates the heat and humidity extremely well and flowers best in a sunny location. It should be cut back in late summer to extend the bloom period. Coreopsis Autumn Blush looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens.
Daylily Rosy Returns The Daylily Rosy Returns, Hemerocallis 'Rosy Returns' (Apps, '99,PP9779), is a dwarf variety that has large 4 inch bright rose flowers with a dark pink eye and yellow throat on green foliage. Rosy Returns will bloom from June until frost and may be hardy all the way to zone 2. It can survive harsh conditions that many other plants can not and prefers full sun for the best performance. They will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions. Use for stand alone plantings, edging, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs.
Hosta Revolution It has cream colored leaves that are speckled with green and a irregular dark green margin around the leaves. The lavender flowers of this hosta appear on 20 inch stems, however hosta’s are not known for their flowers. Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage and Revolution is no exception. Revolution will tolerate shade to partial sun and should be planted in any moist, well-drained spot. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and is one of the most popular landscape plants.

Salvia Plumosa Salvia ‘Plumosa’ should be planted in full sun in a moist well-drained area. ‘Plumosa’ is a magnet for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds and is deer-resistant. It is hardy for container gardening and provides excellent cut flowers.
Salvia Purple Rain To increase bloom time, it should be cut back after the first bloom. Blooms look wonderful next to Sedum ‘Matrona’, Achillea 'Coronation Gold' and Salvia ‘Snow Hill’.
Iris Butter And Sugar Iris ‘Butter and Sugar’ prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun, but will tolerate some afternoon shade. The Iris ‘Butter and Sugar’ has many uses. It can also be used in difficult banks and preventing erosion.
Leopard Plant Othello It must have moist soil and should never be allowed to dry out.
