Pansy - Got the Blues

The Pansy Got the Blues, 'Viola wittrockiania', will take away your blues. Got the Blues has four varieties of very dramatic light to dark shades of blue and they are quite frost hardy. The 3 inch flowers are mixed shades of blue including "lillenstein', Elbaue, Elbtalfruede and Bergzauber. Pansies bloom best during cool weather, this means spring in cool climates and fall and winter in warm climates. Got the Blues prefers full sun but they tolerate some light shade. Plant them in normal garden soils and fertilize lightly. They need to be well watered but not soggy. Plant in early spring, 2 to 4 weeks before last frost or in mid summer for fall bloom. In warm climates plant in late summer or early fall. The Pansy works well in locations where late fall and early spring color would be appropriate. ... additional info
