Morning Glory - Split Personality
The Morning Glory Spilt Personality, 'Tpomoea purpurea', has graceful, delicately split, star-shaped flowers that will add a unique look to your garden. The 2 inch star shaped flowers are magenta-pink in color. They are called morning glory because blooms open in the cool of the morning. During the fall, flowers open all day. They will bloom from summer until fall frost. The Spilt Personality Morning Glory does not like to dry out, so water frequently. Morning glories seem to bloom earlier and with more blooms when they are constricted to a pot. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date. Plants started too early are less vigorous than those started later. This excellent vine will cover fences and trellises, grow as ground cover, or hang in large baskets or pots. ... additional information
Sweet Pea - Pastel Sunset The Sweet Pea Pastel Sunset, 'Lathyrus odoratus', is an artist's palette of soft shades, including cream, almond, pink, lavender and white. The 1 to 2 inch flowers are lightly fragrant. The sweet peas bloom in the spring and the duration of blooming depends on the weather. The plants stop blooming once the weather warms up. They will generally bloom 3 to 5 weeks. A key element in successful growing of the Sweet Pea Pastel Sunset is very early planting. The sweet pea prefers deep, rich, fertile soil. Use lots of peat or compost for early spring planting. Position them away from winds and rotate locations from year to year to prevent sweet pea pests. In cold climates plant the seed in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. They are used for cut flowers, ground cover, fence and wall covering, and in large pots. |
