Hosta - Elegans
The Hosta 'Elegans', Hosta sieboldiana, is an extra large Hosta with heart-shaped leaves. Being blue-green in color, it has a heavy, deeply tucked texture with powdery like cast which make it very striking. The white flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 30” and a spread of 48-60”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta ‘Elegans’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. Hosta - Stained Glass The Hosta Stained Glass, Hosta 'Stained Glass', is a sport of the hosta Guacamole and was Hosta of the year in 2006. It is considered one of the best hosta's to be released in years. It has shiny, deeply veined, golden foliage which almost appears to give the leaves a stained glass effect. Each leaf is surrounded by a dark green margin. Stained Glass is a sun tolerant hosta and should be planted in any moist, well-drained spot. |
