Helipsos - Summer Sun Sunflower
The Helipsos 'Summer Sun Sunflower', Heliopsis helianthiodes, is a great combination of large, orange-yellow flowers with dark green foliage. Blooming from July till frost, this Heliopsis grows to 4’ tall with a plant spread of 18-24”. This easy to grow perennial attracts butterflies and is deer resistant. ‘Summer Sun Sunflower’ needs to be grown in full sun, but can tolerate some afternoon shade. It can be planted in average, well-drained soil, but do not allow it to dry out. Fuschia - Cape Horn™ The Fuchsia Cape Horn, Fuchsia 'Cape Horn'™, is a truly hardy fuchsia with very distinctive single bloom flowers of magenta and purple coloring. The flowers appear mid summer through frost. They are great plants for greenhouses, window boxes, baskets, homes, and flower beds. Fuchsias should be planted in warm, sheltered spots in well-drained soil. These plants have dark green leaves often with red stems. Fuchsia are one of the Hummingbirds favorite flowers. Fuchsias do not like to dry out. Keep the soil moist to the touch from spring through autumn. In many parts of the country (and especially if planted in a hanging pot) the fuchsia will require daily watering. |
