Gaura - Karalee White
The Gaura Karalee White, 'Gaura hybrids', a Proven Winners selection, have numerous butterfly-shaped prolific white flowers that bloom from late spring to early summer. ‘Karalee White’ is one of the dwarf forms in its family. The green foliage makes a great contrast with its flower color. With a plant height of 8-12” and a width of 24-36”, it is definite addition to any perennial garden. ‘Karalee White’ Gaura requires full sun in a well-drained area with average to rich soil and is very drought tolerant. A major attraction to butterflies, it continues to bloom through the first hard frosts of autumn into winter. ‘Karalee White’ looks great on a rocky ledge, near bricks and stones, near Sedum 'Autumn Joy' or small dahlias. It's also enchanting with pink bush roses and as a contrast to plants with big fleshy leaves. ... more info
Hosta - Variegata The Hosta ‘Variegata’, Hosta undulata, has dramatic, narrow, lance-shaped wavy leaves with white centers edged in green, making it very striking. The Hosta flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 18” and a spread of 24-36”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta ‘Variegata’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. Hosta ‘Variegata’ was the 2000 American Hosta Growers Hosta of the Year, and one can see why. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and one of the most popular for landscape uses. |
